Nobody Told Me
I actually married my first husband because he reminded me of John Lennon. He was 5' 10 and I was 5' 2. We were both thin and long haired. At his best he was moustached and bearded and I was an Earth Mama with long long hair....our love and sex was out of this world! And I am part NDN so I love the feather in her hair and the dance!
The Wilding of America
From our local Cleveland news:

I've marked this as local since it happened locally. But honeys this is not the only place this crap is going on.
Cleveland Police search for teen suspects in beating death of homeless man
CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Police have been ordered by the mayor to do "whatever it takes" to arrest three suspected teenage killers.
The three, who are thought to be about 15 to 17 years old, are wanted for the beating death of Anthony Waters.
....
"The pack mentality going on in the city of Cleveland must end," Williams announced. "The mayor told us to take the gloves off."
....
Cleveland Police Lt. Thomas Stacho said a number of cars traveling on East 55th slowed down to watch the attack, but none of them stopped. He urged anyone with information to call Cleveland Police.
....
Waters initially told EMS he did not need medical assistance but his condition deteriorated and he was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center where he later died. The coroner says Waters' spleen was ruptured and several ribs were broken. He also suffered a blow to the head.
My hot as Hades comments follow the cut. (Been reading a hoot of a book by an English author called "Gods Behaving Badly" and as an atheist that just cracks me up!)
Fare Thee Well Spacemen
I know I frequently post just a splurt or a video or so...I have very little personal time.
This is about my father and my second father. Both of them worked for NASA. Both were scientists and mathematicians. They were best friends. My father was my second father's boss. They called my Dad "Doc". My second father was named Al and he was buried last Sunday. My father died in January of 1979. My three children also died in January - 1980, 1981 and 1990. I just hate January! Now that my second father died near my birthday (and my mother who shared my birthday is dead) I just hate my birthday!
This is my tribute and sharing of these men. Flaws and all.
My father was a brilliant yet distant man. He was wonderful with friends and cold and absent to his family. I have a thousand stories to represent this. His name was Lynn and he was a genius. I was his favorite child. He was part of the moon shot. He dragged us out of bed continually to see comets (small) and the aurora borealis (once) and he took us in pjs to look through a telescope to see the moons around other planets. It is mostly his fault that I am as I am. (Again with the thousand stories...) But as an oldster I can now see he had a lot of flaws. The last picture of him scares the crap out of me.
Empire by David Byrne
If I have any religion, it is Music and Nature.
One of my very favorite musicians is David Byrne. He has written a wonderful song, perfect for this time of elections between two ugly men.

In national elections
In songs raised on high
With stirring emotions
As tears fill your eyesIn democratic fever
For national defense
I am a mountain [3x]
Like birds upon a fence [2x]Young artists and writers
Please heed the call
What's good for business
Is good for us allAnd as it is in Nature
So it is in life
The weak among us with perish [3x]
The strong alone will survive [2x]Voices like thunder
Decisions like steel
The past and the future
They belong to us allFrom every mountain
The water and the air
The world that we've created [3x]
By working hand in hand [2x]

June 20th was World Refugee Day
Sorry to have missed it by a day, darlings, but better late than never is true. I was born to care about those that suffer. I married a man who suffers more than anyone I know and the fact that he gets up every day with a smile inspires me every day.
Some people are suffering more than we should allow and I just can't let you get too comfortable. You have to be educated and reminded. The tv will brainwash you and the newscasts will fill your heads with junk (mostly.) Sadly, most people you will talk to will be dumb as posts or so selfish that you barely exist. Don't let that happen.
Here for your inspiration are a few videos representing the great heart of this day...

Not Necessarily the News, Father's Day
It is Father's Day. Happy day and night to the good fathers of this world, those that love their partners and care for their children. Those who are abusive to partners and who abandon their children do not deserve this honorable title. The odd thing is that there is more violence on Father's Day than any other day of the year. Why is that, do you think?
I was watching the news which I generally avoid like the plague a few days ago. That cured me for a good long stretch. In general, I prefer to get my input from Internet sources or directly from people. As far as the Internet, I prefer sources outside this country since our Media sold its soul for gold long since.
I remember (partly) a comedy show called Not Necessarily the News. Maybe it was when I lived in England. That phrase came barging into my brain as my Muse is a grumpy old Biddy in combat boots. The news was ridiculous. I will spare the faint-hearted and hide it behind this cut...
Teddy
Teddy was the youngest Kennedy brother. He wasn't meant to go into politics.
When the oldest Kennedy boy (Joe Jr.) died young...all the other boys had to shift up. JFK was by far no saint but he had a really good national vision. The mafia or the fbi killed him. No Russian. It was us.
Then Bobby was even better. His heart and vision was really, really good but he chased the mafia and the fbi severely and, again, they killed him.
Once Bobby and Martin LK Jr died, I gave up on official heroes because they always got killed by my enemies. I had unofficial heroes and they STILL got killed. Frankly, there are thousands of people who would just love to kill me and/or my husband. As a matter of fact I have strong indicators that my life will end violently when I am ancient. I will be fighting for our world even then!
Gay Marriage
Waffle, waffle said McCain.
The really unfortunate thing about McCain is that he has a really good sense of humor and an ability to poke fun at himself which other politicos lack. This can be overcome but not necessarily by current players. We'll see.
On the topic I choose now, gay marriage, he fails completely like most bible bangers. Each year I have less respect for religions only because the disrespect has been earned. Most wars are religious. I am a pacifist. I won't kill. I may destroy your life with the law but that is another thing. I have had gay friends (that I knew of) since I was 16 and still have gay friends, some whom I have known for 30 years, longer than some of you have lived.
There is nothing bad about being gay. Gay is just another form of love. My own belief is that everyone is bisexual by nature as a human and that they find some people that they love. The really unlucky people are those who never love.
Anyway, I am a huge Ellen Degeneres fan. I spotted her in her early stand up as a future star and she has out-sailed Oprah! Whoot!!! I can't stand Oprah. She is probably gay but too religious to admit it.
I am a member of Ellen's web site and watch her whenever I can. I decided tonight to get a write in voting form and vote for her. Just to do it. Because I can. Because I will.
I watched the thread of her marriage to Portia DeRossi get miserably insulted by so-called religious people. It was awful. I would never want to know any of those people!
