Somaly Mam

Somaly Mam

Somaly Mam

Somaly Mam is a real phoenix. She is not a flaming egotist like a "born again" person. She is the real deal.

[More:]

For those of you who have never been raped, lucky. lucky. lucky you! For those who have been raped, like I was, as an adult, you still have a slim slice of luck. For Somaly Mam and many others in Cambodia and many, many (if not all) other countries, who have been raped as children, there are no ways to make up for that damage. None.

Somaly Mam is a True Phoenix and I honor her every day of her life. She rose from being a child prostitute, sold by her own family who suffered Gitmo or worse torture and yet...

And yet her heart survived and her Spirit was unquenchable. She founded an organization that saves children, little boys and girls who are lost in the same way that she was not so long ago...

This picture is a miracle.

I am an atheist but I believe with every ounce of my being in this miracle of the human heart. I have also decided to support her efforts and buy an Akun bracelet for myself and my husband. We are also donating monthly to her work. I saw that she has only 1382 (including me) supporters of the 10,000 that she needs to expand her work to more children.

You should help her too - if your heart is alive.

These children have no defenders but We the People and if we fail them, they are lost. Every child is our child and deserves our love and protection.

Please, please, please do what you can....

p.s. Whoopeee! One more supporter after me yesterday!
