Cleveland Schools
Pity the children.
Seriously.
We the People in Cleveland have failed them and, trust me darlings, it is WAY beyond busing (which in an enlightened society might work...but not in Busherica!)
I'll share a secret. Bush always - and I DO mean always - reminded me of Alfred E. Neumann from MAD magazine. "What? ME worry????" Now he makes Alfred look like a damned genius!
Bush will spend the end of his life in prison and you heard it here first (or second, or whtever). The old way: because he earned it.
Since my compadres are dealing so well with politics (frankly, I am writing in a vote for a non-candidate so I am already out of the pool), I am writing about the things I care about even more - people, music, possibilities, ecology.
I am the Pubhouse Mama. Send me....
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Well, I lift my golden lamp also and I hope that you will do the same....
Not all do. From a recent poll on the Statue of Liberty statement, the support was:
Yes 162
Not anymore 35
No 22
Not entirely 20

Bush knows all about Hitler
According the The Guardian in the UK,
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2004/sep/25/usa.secondworldwar
How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power
George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.
The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.
...
The evidence has also prompted one former US Nazi war crimes prosecutor to argue that the late senator's action should have been grounds for prosecution for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
The Mothers Who Were
Happy Mothers' Day all you mothers.
I was once a mother (times three) but have no children to show you. I wrote a poem 10 years ago for "ex-mothers" like me. This is fully copyrighted but offered freely for personal, non-profit use. May it ease the wounded heart, like mine...on this day.
Myanmar -Devastation in a small country
Myanmar has lost so many people and homes and roads and...and...and...
From the Christian Science Monitor, a great news source from my parent's religion:

Somaly Mam

Somaly Mam is a real phoenix. She is not a flaming egotist like a "born again" person. She is the real deal.
Universal Soldiier 2 - Buffy Sainte Marie
Buffy is an NA and I am part NA. This is a different version and come over and kick me if you can't take it but I am SO sick of war that I will pester you all until you stop it. She was blacklisted by our puny government and therefore is an utter "hero" to me!
Phil Ochs - I Ain't A'Marching Anymore
Yes Phil was a tortured soul. Any artist or writer or thinker always is. Trust me! He splintered into two personalities (like Garth Brooks did) and committed suicide not long after this. Depression is the pure stamp of feeling. Most of the good ones die young and he is proof of this statement.
Little Boxes by Pete Seeger
Pete Seeger was a folk singer who spoke very well about this country and the problems therein. If you are too young to remember this song...it's like a prophecy!!! This song was written by Malvina Reynolds.
Heart Like a Wheel
War war war...
Yes, it is a money-maker and the chief american enterprise. It is where Puddinhead wants all and I do mean all of our resources to go. That way It can funnel these billions of dollars to Its friends who are as abysmal as It is. We sit by and pay our taxes as this occurs. We pay for the war.
I am starting a new concept today: Heart like a Wheel.
