Conversation, dialogue, monologues, and some plain out ranting... here are the voices of the Pubhouse. No boozy, slurred idiocy, nor is this the place for greasy kid stuff.

"Nice People"- Pubhouse Bookshelf

"Nice People"- Pubhouse Bookshelf

From the Pubhouse Bookshelf- a reading of the essay "Nice People", written in 1931 by Bertrand Russell.

Trying something new here: reading essays from the past which are nonetheless relevant today for those who enjoy the other podcasts from PubhouseDialogues. Feedback will be greatly appreciated- I am contemplating doing books by podcast if the interest is there. To download the podcast- use this link.

This was a good idea and "Nice People" was an excellent selection. Amazing that there are no comments after two years. If you haven't read it already, another book I think you would enjoy is The Moral Obligation to be Intelligent, a collection of essays by Lionel Trilling (1905-1974), some of which are quite exceptional.

Don't give up; contemplation of intelligence and wit is its own reward.
